Mia (she/her/they/them) completed undergraduate degrees in Biology and Nursing as well as her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Washington in Seattle. Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Mia worked as a Registered Nurse and Charge Nurse at Seattle Children’s Hospital on the inpatient Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine Unit. She has worked in healthcare in a variety of capacities and across numerous specialties since 2008, when Suzan Watanabe gave her her first job in healthcare. She currently balances roles in community mental health and group private practice. She is delighted to return to Suzan’s clinic as an ARNP.
While Mia’s primary area of clinical expertise is in child & adolescent mental health, she applies that fundamental understanding of psychological development and attachment theory to patients of all ages. Mia supports clients experiencing a broad range of mental health issues, with a particular focus on individuals with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Trauma/Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
As a member of the neurodivergent community, Mia has personally experienced many of the day-to-day challenges individuals with Autism and ADHD may struggle with firsthand. Her own late diagnosis and subsequent difficulty accessing appropriate care providers drove her to pursue a career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. She is honored by each client who chooses to share their story with her.
