What to Expect
Mia believes that a client-clinician relationship should be grounded in mutual trust. As an ARNP, Mia may diagnose mental health conditions, prescribe medications, order labs, and provide brief therapeutic interventions. She may also recommend more holistic treatments such as nutritional supplements, dietary interventions, or referrals for specialized care.
Development of each client’s treatment plan is an ongoing collaboration between the client and clinician. Mia always aims to provide clients with her rationale for recommending an intervention including the evidence to support them.
With each session, she aims to create a collaborative environment in which clients develop a deeper understanding of their symptoms and an ability to communicate their needs to others. Her approach draws from principles of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Dialectical and Behavioral Therapy(DBT). For youth, she aims to address disruptive and challenging behaviors by understanding the context in which they occur.
